Business phone plans

Two business phone plans. Every feature on both.

Pay As You Go at $10 a user plus a cent a minute, or Unlimited at $15 a user. No contract, no seat minimum, and you are billed by the day, so a plan fits one person as well as it fits ten.

Real US local and toll-free numbers. Live in about five minutes.

The plans

Pick how you pay for calls. That is the only choice.

Most business phone plans are a ladder: the feature you need sits one tier above the price you wanted. Here both plans are the whole product.

Pay As You Go

$10 a user, a month

  • Calls 1¢ a minute
  • Texts 3¢ each
  • Features All of them
  • Best for Under 500 minutes a month
Unlimited

$15 a user, a month

  • US calls Unlimited
  • US texts Unlimited
  • Features All of them
  • Best for People on the phone daily

Unlimited runs under a fair-use policy: it is for normal business calling, not call centers, auto-dialers, bulk texting or reselling. Sending texts needs a one-time carrier registration, filed from the dashboard.

Which plan costs less

The line is about 500 minutes a month

Count the minutes one person really spends on calls in a month. Under about 500, Pay As You Go wins. Over that, Unlimited wins. Prices below are for one user, before the $2.50 number.

A quiet month

120 minutes

Pay As You Go$11.20
Unlimited$15.00
A steady month

400 minutes

Pay As You Go$14.00
Unlimited$15.00
A busy month

800 minutes

Pay As You Go$18.00
Unlimited$15.00

If you text customers a lot, Unlimited wins sooner: texts are 3 cents each on Pay As You Go and included on Unlimited.

Before you sign anything

Plans look alike until the second month. These are the questions that separate them, with our answers.

Is there a minimum number of users? No. One user is a full system.
Is there a contract or an annual commitment? No. Cancel any time.
Which features need a higher tier?None. The menu, groups, recording and transcripts are on both plans.
What does a second number cost?$2.50 a month, as many as you want.
What happens when someone leaves mid-month?Delete the user and the charge stops that day.

On both plans

What every plan includes

One number, whole team

Ring groups ring everyone at once. Turn on the queue and callers wait with hold music until someone is available.

A phone menu

"Press 1 for sales, 2 for support." Every key can lead to a person, a group or another menu.

Hours and holidays

A schedule for business hours and a calendar for holidays decide what callers hear.

Recording and transcripts

Switch recording on for a number and recorded calls are transcribed and searchable.

Voicemail by email

Every voicemail arrives with the audio and a transcript, for each person and each group.

Any device

The browser, the iOS and Android app, or standard desk phones from Yealink, Grandstream, Poly, Cisco and Fanvil.

How billing works

Prepaid, by the day

01

Load a balance

Add a card and deposit $15 or more. That first $15 lasts about 30 days for one user.

02

Pay for active days

Each user and number is charged a day at a time. Add someone mid-month and you pay for those days only.

03

Top up when you like

Add funds yourself, or set auto-recharge to refill the balance when it drops below an amount you choose.

Questions

Business phone plans, answered

How much is a business phone plan on Tonet?

There are two plans. Pay As You Go is $10 per user per month, plus 1 cent a minute for calls and 3 cents a text. Unlimited is $15 per user per month with unlimited US calling and texting under a fair-use policy. Each phone number is $2.50 a month. There is no contract, no setup fee and no seat minimum.

Which plan is cheaper for me?

It depends on minutes. Under about 500 minutes of calls a month per user, Pay As You Go costs less. Above that, Unlimited at $15 costs less. If you text a lot, Unlimited wins sooner, because texts are 3 cents each on Pay As You Go.

Do the plans have different features?

No. Both plans include every feature: the phone menu, ring groups and call queues, business hours and holiday schedules, call recording with transcripts, voicemail by email, texting, the mobile app and desk phone support. The only difference is how usage is paid.

Is there a contract or a minimum number of users?

No. There is no contract and no seat minimum, and you can cancel any time. One person can have a full business phone system. You are billed by the day against a prepaid balance, only for the days a user is active.

Is there an early termination fee or an auto-renewal?

No. There is no term to renew and nothing to pay to leave. Because billing is by the day, a seasonal helper or a short trial costs only the days that person is on the account.

What happens when I add or remove someone mid-month?

You pay for the days that user exists. Add a user on the 20th and you pay from the 20th. Delete a user and the charge stops that day.

Can I keep my current business number?

Yes. Porting a number in costs nothing. Most ports complete in 7 to 10 business days, sometimes longer depending on the current carrier, and your number keeps working with your current provider until the switch.

What do I need to pay to start?

The minimum deposit is $15, which lasts about 30 days for one user. You add a card, make the deposit, and the phone system is ready in about five minutes.
